Ugandan media personality and DJ Lynda Ddane is reportedly among the first people in the country to acquire Apple’s newly released iPhone 18 Pro Max, with claims circulating that she has secured the top-end 2TB version of the flagship device.
The reported acquisition has generated attention on social media, where Ddane’s choice of the latest premium smartphone has been presented as another example of her reputation for embracing high-end technology.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max was officially unveiled by Apple on September 9, 2026, alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, with both models becoming available from September 18. Apple lists the Pro Max in 256GB, 512GB, 1TB and 2TB storage configurations, making the 2TB model the highest-capacity option in the new lineup.

Apple’s latest flagship comes with the company’s new A20 Pro chip, built on a 2-nanometre process and designed to deliver increased processing and artificial-intelligence performance. The company also introduced a new 48-megapixel Fusion Main camera featuring variable aperture, a first for the iPhone, allowing users greater control over depth of field and lighting.
Battery performance is another major feature of the new device. Apple says the iPhone 18 Pro Max can provide up to 45 hours of video playback, while typical use is rated at up to 30 hours per charge.
The phone also comes with iOS 27 and Apple’s next generation of Apple Intelligence features, including the new Siri AI, which Apple says is designed to provide more personalised assistance and greater awareness of what is happening on a user’s screen.
In Uganda, the 2TB model is reportedly being sold for around Shs15 million once importation and other local costs are factored in. However, local pricing can vary depending on the supplier, taxes, exchange rates, shipping and availability.
The claim that Ddane is the first Ugandan to acquire the 2TB iPhone 18 Pro Max has not been independently established. It is therefore more accurate to describe her as being **reported to be among the earliest Ugandan owners**, unless a retailer or other reliable source confirms the “first Ugandan” claim.
Ddane has previously attracted attention for her association with premium smartphones. Her public profile has included appearances with earlier flagship iPhone models, including the iPhone 13 Pro Max era, reinforcing her image as an early adopter of high-end consumer technology.
Her latest reported purchase has once again triggered discussions online about expensive smartphones, celebrity lifestyles and the visibility that comes with owning newly released technology.
For Apple enthusiasts, however, the attraction of the 2TB iPhone 18 Pro Max goes beyond status. The enormous storage capacity is particularly relevant to photographers, filmmakers, musicians and content creators who routinely handle large video files.
With its A20 Pro processor, variable-aperture camera, expanded storage and long battery life, Apple’s newest Pro Max represents the company’s latest push to position the iPhone as both a premium smartphone and a serious creative-production device.
