Under the new programme, eligible students can receive up to a 50 percent reduction in school fees, giving families facing financial difficulties an opportunity to keep their children in school while also supporting learners who have demonstrated exceptional ability.

The bursary will also benefit pupils completing primary education, with candidates who obtain aggregates between 4 and 14 in the Primary Leaving Examinations eligible to be considered for financial support when applying for admission to the college.

The institution has further introduced an incentive for parents who pay school fees early. Parents who clear their children’s fees within the first two weeks of a new term will receive a two percent discount, reducing the financial burden for families that are able to make early payments.

Academic performance will also be rewarded under the initiative. Students who earn seven or more distinctions will qualify for either a UGX 50,000 cash reward or partial sponsorship towards their school fees, with the incentive aimed at encouraging learners to maintain strong academic performance.
The college has also created special support for students who have lost a parent. Learners whose fathers have passed away will receive a 50 percent fee reduction, while those who have lost their mothers will be eligible for a 25 percent reduction under the programme.

Beyond financial assistance, St. Mary’s College Mayenze says it remains focused on developing students academically, morally and spiritually. The school promotes discipline and spiritual growth through activities such as daily prayers, Holy Mass and Scripture Union fellowship.

As registration for Term Three continues, the college says the bursary programme is intended to ensure that promising students are not forced out of school because of financial difficulties. The initiative also seeks to give learners an opportunity to grow their academic, leadership and talents while receiving support throughout their education.
