Chameleone made the remarks while discussing the circumstances surrounding his son’s transition into parenthood, saying he had decided to personally ensure that the child and his daughter-in-law receive the support they need.

According to the singer, Abba Marcus is still young and his current lifestyle shows that he may not yet be ready to shoulder the financial and practical responsibilities that come with raising a child.

“My son Abba Marcus isn’t mature yet to step up as a father and this is evident from how he lives his life right now,” Chameleone said.

The musician added that, given his son’s current circumstances, he considers it his responsibility as a father to step in and provide for the newborn.

“That is going to be my responsibility to step up and take care of my grandchild financially and everything my daughter-in-law might need,” he said.

The singer’s comments portray a willingness to put family responsibilities ahead of concerns about his son’s readiness for parenthood. Rather than placing the entire burden on Abba Marcus, Chameleone said he would personally provide the financial support necessary to ensure that his grandchild is well cared for.

His remarks have also sparked conversations about the role grandparents can play when their children become parents before they are financially or emotionally prepared for the responsibility.

Fatherhood often comes with significant financial obligations, including healthcare, food, education, clothing and other basic needs. Chameleone’s decision to intervene appears aimed at ensuring that the child does not suffer because of his son’s lack of preparedness.

The musician also specifically mentioned his daughter-in-law, indicating that his support would extend beyond the child to include whatever assistance she may require.

Chameleone is one of Uganda’s most prominent musicians and has frequently attracted public attention not only through his music career but also through his family life.

His latest comments have given fans and members of the public a glimpse into how he intends to handle his responsibilities as a grandfather.

While acknowledging that Abba Marcus still has some growing up to do, Chameleone’s statement suggests that he is willing to provide the guidance and financial backing necessary as his son gradually adjusts to the demands of parenthood.

The singer’s approach underscores the importance of family support during major life transitions, particularly when young parents are still finding their footing.

For now, Chameleone says he is ready to ensure that his grandchild and daughter-in-law have what they need, while Abba Marcus continues his journey toward becoming a mature and responsible father.
