Kampala — National Resistance Movement (NRM) National Treasurer, Ambassador Barbara Nekesa Oundo, has extended warm birthday wishes to President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni as he celebrates his 82nd birthday.
In a message shared on her social media platforms on Tuesday, Amb. Nekesa Oundo paid tribute to President Museveni’s leadership and wished him continued good health, strength and wisdom as he leads the country.
The message reads:
Happy 82nd Birthday to Your Excellency, President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, our National Chairman.
We wish you long life, good health and continued wisdom as you steer our great nation to prosperity.

The birthday message comes as the NRM and the Office of the National Chairman organise activities to mark President Museveni’s birthday, including a special prayer and commemorative ceremony honouring fallen liberation fighters at the Office of the National Chairman headquarters in Kyambogo.
Amb. Nekesa Oundo has served as NRM National Treasurer since 2021. Before taking up the party position, she served as Uganda’s High Commissioner to South Africa and as State Minister for Karamoja Affairs.
Within the NRM, she has played a key role in the party’s financial and organisational affairs.
Her message is among several birthday tributes being shared by NRM leaders, government officials, family members and supporters to celebrate President Museveni.
First Lady Janet Museveni and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba have also publicly celebrated the President’s birthday with messages of appreciation and good wishes.
President Museveni, who was born on September 15, 1944, is serving as Uganda’s President and Chairman of the NRM.
His 82nd birthday has been marked by celebrations across the country, with supporters and party cadres praising his long leadership of the country and the NRM.
