KAMPALA — The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) headquarters in Kyambogo was filled with prayers, gratitude and messages of unity as Sironko District Woman MP Hon. Mafabi Asha Nabulo joined ONC Head Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye and other leaders for a special interfaith thanksgiving service in honour of First Lady Maama Janet Kataaha Museveni.
The prayer gathering brought together religious leaders, political leaders, Bazzukulu and well-wishers from different backgrounds to thank God for the First Lady’s good health, strength and continued service to Uganda.
The faithful prayed for Maama Janet’s continued wellbeing and celebrated her contribution to the country, particularly in education, family values, youth empowerment and national development.
Hon. Asha Nabulo praised the First Lady for what she described as exemplary leadership, humility, faith and dedication to serving Ugandans. She said Maama Janet’s life and service continue to inspire women, young people and families across the country.
Nabulo also commended Hajjat Namyalo and the ONC fraternity for organising an interfaith gathering that brought people together beyond religious, tribal and political differences.
“This is a demonstration that when Ugandans come together in faith and thanksgiving, we strengthen our bonds as a nation,” she said.
Hajjat Namyalo, who serves as Head of ONC and Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, called on Ugandans to remain grateful to God, promote unity and continue supporting leaders committed to the country’s development.
She emphasised the importance of prayer in strengthening families, communities and the nation, urging Ugandans to embrace peaceful coexistence and mutual respect.
The thanksgiving service was led by Pastor Aloysius Bujingo, who preached about faith, respect, unity and togetherness. He encouraged leaders and citizens to work together in promoting harmony and strengthening the nation.
The event ended with continued prayers and messages of goodwill for Maama Janet, with participants expressing hope for her continued good health and strength as she carries out her responsibilities in service to Uganda.
