Rubanda District Engineer Habimana John said the temporary bridge currently in use was unable to support vehicles, creating difficulties for traders transporting goods.

He explained that business people were sometimes forced to hire two vehicles from opposite directions to move goods across the affected section, increasing the cost and inconvenience of transportation.

Habimana said the new box culvert would address the challenge and make it easier to transport goods and people from one part of the area to another.

Rubanda District Chief Administrative Officer Samuel Ahabwe pledged maximum support to the District Engineer and the technical team to ensure the project is successfully implemented.

RDC Kyeyune Senyonjo commended the government for investing in infrastructure aimed at improving accessibility and connecting communities to essential services.

He said improved road infrastructure would contribute to better movement of people and goods while supporting economic activity in the area.
