Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has reignited his public confrontation with businessman Odrek Rwabwogo, saying arresting him would be an easy task.
Gen Muhoozi made the remarks amid the ongoing dispute surrounding Rwabwogo and the Presidential Advisory Committee on Exports and Industrial Development (PACEID).
“Arresting Odrek is the simplest thing I have ever done. I will do it,” Gen Muhoozi said in a statement that has attracted widespread attention.
The remarks come shortly after Gen Muhoozi had announced that he was withdrawing an earlier tweet about Rwabwogo following an appeal from his brother-in-law Edwin.
He had earlier assured Ugandans that the Museveni family remained united and that he would discuss the matter with his sisters Natasha and Bishop Patience.
However, the latest statement appears to show that tensions over the dispute remain high.

Rwabwogo, who is married to President Yoweri Museveni’s daughter Patience Museveni Rwabwogo, has been at the centre of controversy over PACEID.
Gen Muhoozi has previously criticised PACEID, describing the organisation as illegal and questioning its operations.
He also announced that some of the committee’s functions would be transferred to Operation Wealth Creation.
Rwabwogo has disputed the claims and maintained that PACEID was created through a government process and cannot simply be dissolved without proper authority.
The disagreement escalated further after the reported detention of Matthew Bagonza, a PACEID official and aide to Rwabwogo.
Gen Muhoozi confirmed Bagonza’s detention, while Rwabwogo said he had contacted security agencies to find out where his aide was being held.
The public exchange between the two men has attracted significant attention because of their connection to the First Family.
Supporters of Gen Muhoozi have backed his statements, arguing that government institutions should be held accountable.
However, critics have raised concerns about the use of public statements and threats of arrest during disagreements involving influential figures.

The latest remarks have renewed debate about the relationship between political influence, security authority and family connections.
Gen Muhoozi’s comments come at a time when he has increased his public presence and made several statements on national issues.
Rwabwogo has not publicly responded to the latest remarks in the information available.
The dispute over PACEID and the accusations surrounding it remain unresolved as both sides continue to attract public attention.
Whether Gen Muhoozi’s latest statement will lead to any action remains unclear, but it has further intensified the ongoing confrontation.
For now, Ugandans are watching closely as the disagreement involving two prominent figures connected to the country’s leadership continues to develop.
