The meeting comes at a time when PLU has increased its public engagements and political discussions ahead of future national activities.

Muhoozi, who serves as PLU chairman, has previously used the platform to communicate messages about unity, national development and support for young Ugandans.

The group has attracted attention because of its association with Muhoozi and its growing presence in Uganda’s political space.

The Central Committee meeting is expected to bring together senior PLU officials and representatives from different areas.

Members have been directed to attend the meeting as the organisation prepares to discuss its priorities and programmes.

Muhoozi has in previous statements emphasized the importance of organisation and coordination among PLU members.

The announcement comes shortly after several political discussions involving PLU, the National Resistance Movement (NRM) and other political actors.

The meeting is likely to focus on strengthening the structure of the organisation and outlining future activities.

PLU leaders have previously said the organisation aims to mobilise Ugandans around issues affecting the country, especially among young people.

The expansion of the Central Committee is seen as part of efforts to increase representation and improve coordination within the group.

Muhoozi’s announcement has generated discussion among political observers following PLU’s growing visibility in Uganda’s political environment.

The September 22 meeting will therefore be closely watched for possible new announcements, programmes or directions from the organisation.

As members prepare for the gathering, attention remains on what resolutions will come out of the expanded Central Committee meeting.

The venue and full agenda of the meeting are expected to be communicated ahead of the scheduled date.
