Chief of Defence Forces Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba has expressed his support for Uganda taking on what he described as the “Gaza mission,” saying Ugandans had accepted the responsibility despite others avoiding it.
In a message shared publicly, Gen Muhoozi said the decision was taken because many others had stepped away from the challenge, adding that Uganda was ready to play its part.
“We as Ugandans have accepted the Gaza mission, because everybody else was running away. May our God help us,” Gen Muhoozi wrote.
The statement has attracted attention because of the international sensitivity surrounding issues connected to Gaza and the wider Middle East conflict.
Gen Muhoozi’s remarks have sparked discussions among Ugandans, with some supporters praising what they described as Uganda’s willingness to take responsibility in global matters.
Supporters of the CDF said his message reflected confidence in Uganda’s ability to contribute to major international efforts.

Others, however, have questioned what exactly the “Gaza mission” refers to and called for more details about Uganda’s role.
The statement comes at a time when international attention remains focused on developments in Gaza and ongoing diplomatic efforts to address the conflict.
Gen Muhoozi, who often shares his views on regional and global issues, has previously commented on matters involving security, diplomacy and international relations.
His latest message has continued discussions about Uganda’s position on international affairs and peace-related initiatives.
The phrase “May our God help us” in his statement was seen by supporters as a prayer for guidance and success in the mission.
Many of his followers responded by expressing support and confidence in Uganda’s leadership.
However, some observers noted that international missions require clear objectives, coordination and public understanding before commitments are made.
The comments have placed focus on Uganda’s possible involvement in efforts connected to Gaza and how such a role would be carried out.
Uganda has historically participated in regional and international peacekeeping efforts, especially through its security forces

The country has contributed troops to different missions under international and regional arrangements aimed at promoting stability.
Gen Muhoozi’s statement has therefore renewed conversations about Uganda’s role in global security matters.
Political commentators are watching for further clarification regarding the nature, purpose and scope of the mission he referred to.
The message also highlights Gen Muhoozi’s growing public presence on issues beyond Uganda’s domestic security matters.
As discussions continue, many Ugandans are waiting for more information about what the Gaza mission involves and what role Uganda may play.
For now, Gen Muhoozi’s words have opened a new debate about Uganda’s involvement in international affairs and the responsibilities that come with such commitments.
