There’s a saying: God opens your way, but the devil also works very hard to ensure that he gives you a bad friend who will bring you down. This is the situation with the Executive Director of the Uganda Revenue Authority, Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki.

When the President appointed my brother in 2020, Ugandans were so happy, with a lot of expectations that a calm John Musinguzi would perform to the best of his experience.

Indeed, he started very well. Revenue collections improved so well, and the smuggling of goods, even in Karamoja through porous borders, stopped completely.

But little did I know that Satan was already sitting and waiting to start taking notice when Mr Musinguzi was summoned over the under-declaration of goods belonging to the current troubled former Speaker of Parliament, Anita Among.

The worst scenario is when the URA Director allegedly under-declared a vehicle which was imported by Among at the cost of Shs 4.5 billion, but it was declared at Shs 900 million, among many other things.

Now that saga has put my brother Musinguzi in a dark hole where no Ugandan would wish to see his reputation go.

How could you accept someone’s wrong moves and allow them to make you betray the trust of the appointing authority? And what will you do to make the President trust you again?

Do you remember the message that the President posted on his Twitter account when he was appointing you? He said, “By the virtue of powers granted to me by the Constitution, I have appointed Mr John Musinguzi Rujoki as the new Commissioner General of URA Uganda. This appointment takes immediate effect.” That was the President’s message.

When you read that message from the President while appointing you, it carries a lot of weight and trust, which you have allowed someone to help you destroy.

My humble advice to you, Mr Musinguzi, is that you need to start serious prayers and fasting; otherwise, you’re also finished. That job has gone from your hands.

Our mighty General, the bad man General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, will soon visit your doorstep, and when he comes to you, there will be no friendly jokes with him anymore because he’s now the champion against corruption.

I will be l releasing more details soon
