A woman from Jinja has opened up about the difficult period her marriage went through after her husband became distant, stopped communicating openly with her and appeared to lose interest in their relationship.
The woman, who requested to be identified as Sarah, said there was a time when she and her husband were extremely close. They spent quality time together, talked about their future and stood by each other during different challenges. She said she never expected their marriage to reach a stage where communication between them would become so difficult.
According to Sarah, the problems did not happen all at once but developed gradually. Her husband started spending more time away from home and became less willing to engage in conversations.
Whenever she tried to find out what was troubling him, he would often give brief responses or avoid talking about the matter.
Sarah said the growing emotional gap eventually began affecting their home life. They started having disagreements over issues that previously would not have caused problems, while conversations that once ended calmly increasingly turned into serious arguments.
“I could tell that things were no longer the same between us,” Sarah said. “Although we were living under the same roof, I felt emotionally separated from him. I constantly asked myself whether I had done something wrong.”
She said she tried different approaches to restore the closeness they once enjoyed. She attempted to communicate with him, gave him some space and reminded him of the happy moments they had experienced together, but she felt that nothing was making a difference.
With time, Sarah said she started losing hope that their marriage could recover. She feared that the relationship they had spent years building was gradually coming to an end.
