My name is Robert, and I am a businessman from Kasese, Uganda. There was a time when I genuinely believed that everything I had worked hard to build was slipping away.
I had put nearly all my savings into my business, hoping it would give me financial stability and help me provide a better future for my family.
Sadly, things took a completely different direction. In the beginning, my business was performing well. Customers came in regularly, the sales were encouraging, and I could comfortably pay my bills, look after my family and put some money aside.
Because everything appeared to be moving in the right direction, I became confident and decided to put even more of my savings into expanding the business. But gradually, things started changing.
The number of customers reduced, sales began falling and the costs of operating the business continued rising. I started relying on my savings to keep the business running, hoping the difficult period would only be temporary and that things would soon return to normal.
Unfortunately, the months went by without any improvement. The products I had bought remained unsold for long periods, while other business expenses continued piling up. Eventually, I realised that almost all the money I had invested in the business had been lost.
Things became so difficult that I seriously thought about shutting down the business. I had also borrowed money to keep some of my operations going, and the responsibility of repaying those debts added even more pressure. Many nights, I could hardly sleep because my mind was occupied with the financial difficulties I was facing.
My family was also affected by the situation. I could no longer provide for them the way I had done before, and even meeting ordinary household needs became a challenge. I felt embarrassed because people who had once watched me succeed could now see that the business I had worked so hard to build was struggling.
I tried different ways to revive the business. I cut down unnecessary expenses, searched for better suppliers and worked hard to attract new customers. Despite all these efforts, the changes were not enough to recover the money I had already lost or put the business back on a stable path.
One evening, while talking to a close friend about my financial struggles, he told me about. To see full details, click here
