The incident happened during the night of Friday, September 11, 2026, in Kimanto A Village, Budondo Parish, Bukanga Sub-County, Luuka District.

All three victims were residents of Kimanto A Village, where the shocking incident has left residents deeply concerned and searching for answers about what happened to the family.

Police were alerted at about 11am by the area Local Council chairperson, who informed the authorities about the discovery of the bodies inside the burnt house.

A joint team from Busiiro Police Post, Bukanga Police Station and Luuka District Police responded to the scene after receiving the report and immediately began examining the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

Preliminary examination of the scene reportedly showed that the victims had suffered multiple cut wounds. The injuries have led investigators to believe that the three people were violently attacked before the house was set on fire.

The presence of multiple cut wounds has made the incident particularly disturbing, as police now believe the fire may have been deliberately started after the victims had already been attacked.

Investigators are treating the incident as a triple murder, while the burning of the house is being handled as a suspected case of arson. Police are working to establish whether the attack was planned and what could have motivated it.

Another major development in the investigation is the disappearance of a motorcycle reportedly used by one of the deceased. The motorcycle was allegedly missing from the premises when the bodies were discovered.

Police believe the missing motorcycle could provide an important lead as they attempt to understand what happened during the night. Investigators are therefore working to establish where the motorcycle was taken and who may have been in possession of it after the incident.

The disappearance of the motorcycle has also raised questions about whether robbery could have been connected to the killings, although police have not yet established a definite motive.

Busoga North Regional Police spokesperson SP Samson Lubega said investigators had already recorded statements from relevant witnesses as they continued working to establish the circumstances surrounding the deaths.

According to the police spokesperson, investigators are pursuing several lines of inquiry. Their focus is on establishing exactly what happened inside the home, identifying the people responsible and determining the motive behind the attack.

Police have also appealed to residents of Kimanto A and neighbouring areas to remain calm as investigations continue. Authorities are expected to gather more information from residents who may have noticed unusual activity around the area.

Residents have particularly been encouraged to report any suspicious movements or activities that they may have observed during the night of September 11. Even information that may appear minor could help investigators piece together what happened.

Police are especially interested in information that could help them trace the missing motorcycle. Investigators believe locating the motorcycle and establishing its movements could provide an important breakthrough in the case.

Anyone with information that could assist police in identifying the suspects or understanding the circumstances surrounding the deaths has been urged to report to the nearest police station or use established police communication channels.

The tragedy has left Kimanto A Village in shock, particularly because one of the victims was only two years old. As police continue with their investigations, residents and the relatives of the deceased are waiting for answers about the circumstances that led to the deaths of the three victims.
