I want to categorically send my applause to our Bad Man, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for giving us the energy to accelerate the message against corruption.
When you look at the objectives of the Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU), chaired by our Bad Man, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, it clearly states: “Reviving a spirit of good citizenship, national pride, and national service among Ugandans; defending the liberation gains; safeguarding the political, social, and historical contributions of Uganda’s liberation struggle.”
It also gives powers to the youth to support national development, economic growth, and the fight against corruption and wastage of public resources.
So, it is within these PLU guidelines that I am standing strong to write this checks-and-balances opinion story. I am specifically focusing on the Ministry of Works and Transport, where officials pretend to be fighting corruption, yet actually, they are trying to hide behind the fight against corruption so that their dirty deals are not checked too.
I would like to thank God Almighty for protecting the Minister for Works and Transport, Mr. Fred Byamukama, and also for giving him enough energy to always give the country corruption outbursts without evidence. I also want to thank God for protecting his adviser, such as Isaac Wani, who is now seemingly running the ministry and continuing to properly mislead Minister Fred Byamukama. I want to clap my hands to God over that.
To me, in my own opinion, and as I am entitled to it, the current minister of works is Isaac Wani because, after reading all the knowledge of the appointed minister, Fred Byamukama, I found out that Mr. Byamukama is not a technical person. Wani is now doing everything possible to mislead Mr. Byamukama in the absence of the Permanent Secretary.
There is a total leadership gap in the Ministry of Works. That is why all this alleged corruption messaging in the Ministry of Works is dominating the media with a lot of contradictions.
This is the reason I am calling upon our President, Museveni, to take a serious step and save the Ministry of Works, where officials are now playing with it using political language without knowing that the Ministry of Works is a highly technical institution in the country that needs competent people.
There was a Member of Parliament who raised a concern on the floor of Parliament as to why Mr. Fred Byamukama has become the shouting hunter without biting, unlike Hon. Balaam, who carries out investigations. To me, in my heart, Balaam has the facts, unlike Hon. Byamukama, who will soon start accusing goats crossing any tarmac road of being corrupt animals.
I am afraid that the continuous witch-hunting and outbursts will make the country lose several multinationals and international organisations that may be interested in funding infrastructure projects in the country.
That’s my own opinion, and I am entitled to it.
I will bring out full details on how corrupt those who claim to be clean in the Ministry of Works are in my next opinion.
