Muhoozi made the remarks while responding to concerns raised by State Minister for Youth and Children Affairs Justine Nameere.

The Chief of Defence Forces said changing or dropping a minister who is not delivering for citizens is a simple decision that can be taken by the leadership.

“Changing or dropping a Minister who is not serving our people’s interests is the easiest thing. In this Kisanja we shall drop and reshuffle many,” Muhoozi said.

His statement has sparked discussions about accountability, performance and expectations from government leaders.

He warned that leaders who fail to meet the expectations of the people should be prepared for changes in their positions.

The remarks come at a time when government officials are under increasing pressure to demonstrate results in their respective ministries.

Minister Justine Nameere had raised issues concerning leadership and service delivery, prompting Muhoozi’s response.

Muhoozi said government positions should be occupied by people who are committed to working for the interests of citizens.

He emphasized that holding a ministerial position comes with responsibility and expectations from the public.

According to Muhoozi, reshuffles are part of ensuring that government remains effective and responsive to the needs of Ugandans.

He said the current government term would witness changes aimed at improving performance among public officials.

The warning comes as President Yoweri Museveni’s administration continues to assess the performance of different government departments and leaders.

Government reshuffles have previously been used to replace ministers and officials in an effort to improve service delivery.

Muhoozi’s comments have drawn attention because of his influential role as Uganda’s top military officer and his involvement in national discussions.

He has in recent months spoken on issues concerning leadership, governance and national development.

The Chief of Defence Forces said leaders should not take their positions for granted but should work hard to justify the trust placed in them.

He added that the interests of Ugandans should remain the priority for anyone serving in government.

The remarks have renewed debate on the importance of accountability among ministers and other public officials.

As the government continues with its agenda, Muhoozi’s warning suggests that more leadership changes could happen if officials fail to meet expectation.
