Ever since the Chief of Defence Forces, Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba, showed full gears of driving corruption out of the country, many social media users quickly rushed to start questioning how the CDF overshadows other institutions established to fight corruption in the country. The problem is that they are busy questioning the General’s move as they are drinking their beer, forgetting that corruption in the country has reached a level where the law should first be put aside.
Much as our established laws are tough on punishing the corrupt, these laws seem to have slept for a long time and left officials struggling to deplete the country’s resources.
To me, in order for us to end corruption in Uganda, we need to go back first to Idi Amin’s rule. This will help to deter other people who may wish to steal government funds from doing so.
General Muhoozi, being a son of Uganda who loves to see the well-being of every Ugandan, can’t just sit and see a few individuals plundering resources that should have helped to set up many public projects in the country.
Honestly speaking, these thieves have mastered that Mzee can just forgive them even if they steal because Mzee, being a grandfather, has that forgiving heart, but this will not happen with Gen Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
Whenever I write my own opinion about Gen Muhoozi, I get a lot of abuse, with some people thinking I am looking for recognition from Gen Muhoozi. But the truth is that it will be only Gen Muhoozi who can wipe out corruption in this country.
