When the Vice President of Uganda, Rtd. Major Jessica Alupo, made a statement while officiating at the workshop of local government officials called by the Minister of Local Government, calling not to humiliate officials accused of corruption in the public domain, there was a serious round of applause for the local government officials.
You know, a man who does not want anyone to touch his wife must fight with his wife, but if he fights, the person who comes to separate them will have an opportunity to touch his wife anywhere he wishes in the name of separating them.
This should go with the local government officials. If you don’t want to be humiliated in public, stop stealing public funds and do the right thing. Hon. Balaam and Namere will not even touch you.
But as long as you mess up with public funds, my dear, there will be no way Hon. Balaam and Namere will miss to humiliate you.
Whoever thinks the statement by Vice President Alupo was to protect them, sorry, do not misunderstand her statement.
I will not get tired of thanking President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni for the appointment of Hon. Balaam and Namere into the local government docket. Sincerely speaking, these ministers have awakened programmes in the local government.
Every district in Uganda you go to and mention the name Balaam, everyone will keep quiet as if they have taken Holy Communion, which does not allow someone to speak at that moment.
I now want to appeal to the two ministers: please deal also with the district service commissions. That’s the centre of government job selling; it’s too much.
I also want to thank our Badman General and our standby Generator, Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba, for spotting Hon. Balaam Barugahara and bringing him to PLU, where he was later appointed minister, and he is showing serious performance.
